Youth Development Coordinator, Out of School Time Program

Overview: Oversees an assigned group of students and provides academic and enrichment activities in a safe and structured environment. This position works in concert with Site Director and program staff members to administer a wide variety of engaging learning opportunities to children and students, where positive youth development is the primary focus.  The position also focuses on program planning (for out of school year and summer camp) and supporting staff with QIS monitoring through Prime Time, and all the requirements from the program’s Prime Time Quality Advisor.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assumes all responsibilities as assigned and carries out duties in accordance with best youth development practices and standards as outlined by affiliates and regulatory, contractual and funding agencies such as the Palm Beach County Health Department, Prime Time Palm Beach County and Early Learning
  • Reports to assigned area(s) on time to assist in daily student intake and Works with supervisors to ensure ratio requirements are maintained.
  • Teaches and supervises a group of school aged children. Prepares scheduled curriculum and provides instruction to children as outlined by curriculum, providing homework and learning support as well as fun and engaging
  • Plans, gains approval, and implements an enrichment club and activities that encourage the acquisition of new skills, promote healthy living and lifestyles, increase social development and proficiencies, and expose students to new and or expanded academic
  • Involves children in all program activities and acts as a positive role model for children and Interacts in a positive and encouraging manner with students, providing as many student-directed choices and leadership opportunities as possible. Responsible for the health, safety and well-being of children at all times.
  • Distributes snacks and meals and supervises assigned group during mealtimes.
  • Tracks and records all pertinent information for individual student progress, including attendance, task completion, measureable outcomes, report cards, FSA scores, and other assigned evaluation tools used for data collection and reporting while keeping all records confidential and
  • Reports concerns regarding students and any incidents to the administrative team. Assists in parent conferences and follow-up referrals for any concerns regarding individual emotional state, academic progress, and or social
  • Exhibits professional and collaborative behavior with children, program staff, parents and guardians, and school personnel.
  • Attends special agency events to be connected with students and plans recognition for outstanding student
  • Assists with classroom maintenance, ensuring a neat and clean environment; requests necessary materials and supplies from supervisor(s) in
  • Reports any needed repairs or maintenance to supervisor as soon as
  • Assures lesson plans and activity schedules are available for any substitute filling in during
  • Remains flexible with regard to work schedule to allow for special events.
  • Obtains all necessary training and credentials and attend staff meetings as
  • Assist with preparing staff for annual QIS monitoring through Prime Time.
  • Work with Prime Time Quality Advisor on reporting of program goals and progress on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist Site Director with building community partnerships to enhance programming and program resources.
  • Coordinate with youth development staff and follow purchasing guidelines to get necessary approvals for programmatic purchases for supplies, events, or scheduling of special activities.
  • Assist with meal counts and other administrative tasks as assigned by Site Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

AA Degree or equivalent college credit hours, is preferred

  • Completion of 40-hour DCF course or ability to do so within the first 90 days of employment
  • Completion of Staff Credential or ability to do so within the first year of employment

Achievement Navigator

Achievement Navigators partner with families enrolled at ACCF or from the surrounding community to support children’s academic and social-emotional success.  The Achievement Navigator builds trusting relationships and inspires commitment to student progress from parents, schools, and the community.  They work with students and families to set goals; encourage behaviors that support positive outcomes; and connect to resources/ navigate systems that support success.

Duties & Responsibilities
Develop trusting relationships with students and families enrolled at ACCF or living in Delray Beach’s priority neighborhood.

  • Track needs of students at assigned site.
  • Serve as a liaison between School, ACCF, and the family to ensure collaboration. Work in coordination with school staff (when feasible), academic out of school time team, and parents to monitor and support students’ academic progress and address any barriers to success.
  • Support linkage and referrals for families and the community.
  • Recruit and maintain a caseload of students and their families with identified need for academic and case management support. Provide coaching and problem-solving to overcome obstacles for students and families to bolster achievement.
  • Support students and families in setting and reaching achievement goals, connecting within the school setting, and facilitating other supports.
  • Provide families’ access to wrap-around resources from ACCF collaborative partners.
  • Develop and track goals and action steps to encourage and facilitate progress.
  • Support family involvement in ACCF workshops and parent engagement activities.
  • Support the Site Director and admin team in assisting with administrative responsibilities including recruitment, enrollment, parent assess to funding, parent communications, fee and documentation collection, etc.
  • Work with the school-based team, as well as program staff to create a social and emotionally healthy and responsive environment.
  • Implement services in the community.
  • Keep all family and process related documentation up to date in client files. Document and record all contact, referrals, case-planning conversations, and progress for program evaluation purposes. Maintain and keep up to date, all contact, referral, and restorative practice logs.
  • Facilitate community building circles, responsive circles, and formal conferences (engaging key stakeholders in the child’s life).
  • Serve as an activity instructor and count in Health Department ratio if needed.
  • Attend weekly program staff meetings and community meetings and represent Achievement Centers.

Education and Experience

  • B.A. in social work, education, counseling (or similar) and experience in community organizing, or a combination of equivalent experience and training
  • Delray Beach resident preferred
  • Bilingual (Creole-English) is required
  • 40 Hour DCF Course required or willingness to obtain within first year of employment (Must be started within 60 days of start date.)

Financial Navigator

Position Overview: The Financial Navigator is a grant funded position through Financially Assisted Agencies and will oversee the Economic Stability Program. The Economic Stability Program will promote independence and enhance the quality of life in Palm Beach County by providing effective and essential services to residents in need. These funds will allow financial provisions to families need to avert a crisis, such as unexpected homelessness. The Economic Stability Program also supports income stabilization and employability programming for participants.

Financial Navigator partners with families enrolled at ACCF or from the surrounding community to support financial stability, access to community resources, employment and career advancement.  The Financial Navigator builds trusting relationships and engages families in their participation in workshops and trainings which promote economic stability. Early Childhood Educator

The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing a high quality learning environment to children and families enrolled. This position implements age-appropriate curriculum, establishes and maintains supportive relationships with children and parents, evaluates developmental growth, and assesses educational outcomes. Delivery of childcare must model best practices as outlined by agency policies as well as licensing, monitoring, funding, and contract agencies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment utilizing best practices; organize and label classroom materials, and display children’s work in a manner appropriate for their age and perceptual skills
  • Design and implement intentional and developmentally appropriate learning activities for children between the ages of 1 and 5 consistent with the curriculum of the Early Learning Program; engage and foster growth for children in nine areas of learning and development (cognitive, socio-emotional, language, literacy, math, physical, art, social studies, and science)
  • Supervise, guide and model appropriate behavior, and implement developmentally appropriate classroom management system to foster socio-emotional learning
  • Maintain a clean environment by sterilizing communal toys, spaces and floors; stores classroom materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner
  • Maintain accurate and current assessment information across all developmental domains utilizing Teaching Strategies Gold, Ages and Stages, VPK assessment, and Bracken assessment tools
  • Use assessment information in planning whole group, small group, and individualized instruction
  • Maintain a cooperative attitude while working with co-teacher, additional program staff, parents, and volunteers
  • Build collaborative relationships with families through daily communication, family engagement opportunities, and parent conferencing
  • Accurately complete all paperwork on time including lesson plans, individual plans, and parent teacher conference forms
  • Encourage and model language development, extended learning and problem solving strategies, and build positive relationships with students
  • Ask for instructional support from the Curriculum Specialist as needed
  • Monitor and refer children to the Developmental Specialist as needed
  • Participate in professional development opportunities; attend meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops as requested
  • Adhere to center policies and procedures and those of monitoring and licensing agencies (e.g. Head Start, Voluntary Pre-kindergarten, Strong Minds, Early Learning Coalition, NAEYC, and Department of Health)

Education and Experience

  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) or AA in early childhood (BA or higher preferred); teachers without an AA must enroll in school until completed
  • Experience teaching toddler and or preschool-age children (ages 1–5)
  • 45-Hour DCF Childcare Training Credential
  • Bilingual English/Creole or English/Spanish preferred

Administrative Assistant, Early Learning Program

The Administrative Assistant (ELP) position provides administrative services by adhering to agency policies and procedures, and requirements set forth by licensing, funding, contract agencies and the corporation. The Administrative Assistant works with leadership and programmatic staff to ensure client information in data systems (hard and soft files) and reports are accurate, current, complete, and confidential.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assume administrative and clerical responsibilities for the program:
    • Receive phone calls and direct to the appropriate personnel while maintaining a friendly, professional, and helpful posture at all times;
    • Coordinate coverage of the reception area to ensure uninterrupted flow of business;
    • Ensure accuracy of all documentation;
    • Convey all pertinent program information verbally or by distributing fliers, permission slips and authorizations;
    • Secure required forms and signatures;
    • Provide receipts to clients for all collected fees and submit to authorize financial personnel on a regularly scheduled basis;
    • Answer doors for clients;
    • Escort children to and from school bus, clocking them in and out; and
  • Work in close coordination with supervisor and staff to maintain accurate and current records;
    • Maintain attendance, track daily absences and report to Center Director and Head Start FACES;
    • Phone parents of absent children and obtain mommy/doctor notes;
    • Collect Mommy notes on a case by case bases
    • Maintain a working knowledge of and inform clients of agency’s rules, regulations, and policies. Seek supervisor’s input and approval for any deviation from standard policies and procedures;
    • Process Payments
  • Support Family Engagement Specialist during enrollment activities:
    • Place ELC Certifications in children’s files and update as needed; scan certificate and upload to Procare;
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to maintain waiting list in Procare data system:
    • Enter client information in Procare for use by Family Engagement Specialist.
  • Support personnel with general office duties:
    • Organize Parent Bulletin Board and Maintain Corporate Board;
    • Order office supplies monthly; securing authorization and give to appropriate personnel for processing;
    • Report all needed maintenance repairs to ELP leadership and Building Manager using approved Company protocol; and
    • Assist teachers with Lamination tasks.
  • Support Early Learning Program staff in maintaining children’s files of enrolled students
  • Record and maintain documentation daily, weekly and monthly as required:
    • On a weekly basis, monitor sign-in- out documentation in Procare to assure parents and staff are properly signing children in/out according to the arrival and departure time of the child. Contact any family who needs to correct their process
  • Receive training as necessary or as directed and attend all required staff meetings.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma; administrative assistant business certification preferred
  • Completion of 40-hour DCF course within the first year of employment
  • Two (2) years of office/clerical experience

Custodian

Position Overview: All positions are responsible for upholding the mission and vision of Achievement Centers for Children & Families and fostering an environment that promotes the academic, social, emotional and physical development of each child enrolled.

The position (20 hrs/week) of Custodian is to ensure the cleaning and sanitation protocols are implemented and completed for all buildings on the Nancy K. Hurd Campus.  Responsibilities include cleaning, stocking and supplying all designated facility areas, while documenting routine cleaning and sanitization.  The position will support and enhance a clean and safe physical environment for all youth on the Nancy K. Hurd Campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Clean all buildings on the Hurd Campus (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, etc) in accordance to the ACCF cleaning schedule
  • Stock and supply all buildings with paper products, soap, and other designated materials as needed
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Perform and document routine inspection and completion of custodial activities
  • Completion of more in-depth cleaning tasks and special projects as needed
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • CPR certification within the first 90 days of employment may be required
  • Two (2) years of previous experience preferred
  • Experience working in a commercial building atmosphere preferred
