Toddler & Preschool Programs
Toddler Program at Barbara D. Smith Building
Ages 12 months to 3 years
Preschool Program at Charlotte Carleton Building
Ages 3 to 5 years
Working parents know the importance of finding reliable childcare. Quality childcare that is also affordable is a rare combination. Poor children start school at a disadvantage in terms of skills, behaviors and health. Our goal is to have children begin school ahead of, or on par with, their more economically advantaged peers.
Our Toddler Program, serving 12 months to 3 years, emphasizes meeting basic skill acquisition and development. The Preschool Program, serving 3 to 5 year olds, focuses on school readiness using an evidence-based, outcome driven curriculum. In both programs we concentrate on socialization for appropriate behavior, peer bonding, and physical development. We provide medical referrals for speech, hearing and vision development delays along with other links to community resources.
The program is available Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at our main campus.

Florida’s School Readiness Program (SR) offers financial assistance to eligible low-income families for early education and care so they can become financially self-sufficient and their young children can be successful in school in the future. Services vary based on individual needs and range from extended day care to after-school and school-age care in some instances.
Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK) is a free educational program that prepares 4-year-olds for kindergarten and beyond. Children must live in Florida and be 4 on or before September 1 of the school year they enroll. Parents of 4-year-olds with special needs have an option outside the classroom setting ‒ VPK Specialized Instructional Services (VPK-SIS).
